Recently Socialee Media had a hankering for Chinese food … not the American Chinese food found in Noodle House or P.F. Changs but the real deal (or as close as we could get). Yuan, at Atlantis on the Palm filled this gap. This contemporary Chinese restaurant has all the taste without the back alley, hanging lanterns and loud slurping sounds found in the traditional restaurants of Hong Kong – which we did miss. We made the most of it with the Yum Cha Brunch (Friday’s from 11:30am – 3:30pm) @ 188 AED per person (non-alcoholic), ordering countless dim sum, dumplings, cha siu bao and pork ribs (you cannot do real Chinese food without pork … sorry kids). The dim sum is really good, and they even have a token dim sum cart, which used to occupy every good restaurant in Hong Kong. Brought back great memories, and we kept ordering, so much so, we hardly had room for any main courses.
