Content Creation #1 : Intro to Social Media for Marketing

Over the past few years we have seen a shift of marketing resource move from the traditional to online. Its a no-brainer for brands and business to be online via websites, social media and digital marketing. Many companies understand this is the best way to rank in search engines in the digital world, but what most companies do not understand is that online presence is more than ranking (this includes facebook likes).

What companies need to know is that online, your brand is a stream of information that can get very personal and human with its readers. Once you gain a reader on your website blog or social media channel they are looking to you as ambassadors of your field. Online is the new testimonial; when people like a fb page they are telling the world and their friends that your product or service is part of their brand image (everyone has one). When people follow you on twitter or instagram, they want to see themselves reflected in the information you provide. Its almost out of a sci-fi movie that the online world is an extension of oneself – and this should be the same for businesses.

So, you have set up your website, have a facebook, twitter and instagram page, and you are ready to go. Like most business, you start uploading all your product photos, latest sales advertising, and … nothing. Most of my clients come to me because after a month of uploading their best stuff (their opinion) they are running out of ideas, product shots and feel lost in the process. And trust me, your follows feel the same way.

I will show you how to breakdown your posts to spread better over your feeds, give you advise on post topics that all business can use, and give a rundown of how-too’s when creating posts and images.
